XSR 700 tribute to the XT500

Take a close look at this bike, and tell me what does it have to present itself as a "tribute" to the XT500??

Nothing on it even reminds me of anything on an XT500.

And the Niken........... :eek7: :eek7: Skerpioen, kreef, wat ook al......baie pootjies en n dun agterlyf. :imaposer:

If you refer to the Tenere, then it seems not.

Apparantly only available second half 2020 as an early 2021 model. According to Advrider.

Power to weight ratio is important and I canít seem to find it

Mid-high 60s and 200 odd KGs. Have you ridden any of the bikes based on the MT07 platform? Nothing super exciting but really good fun and a great motor

hopefully the price will be below R150k then i would definitely add this to my garage, just to sit next to my current 660z. which it essentially is just with a twin motor and modern upgrades. its pretty much exactly what was asked for by every single person not so long ago.  :lol8: yet seems many are disappointed it is NOT a 100kg, 100hp enduro orientated legend.  :deal: :imaposer:

I see on FB, the Tenere will be 72 HP with a dry weight of 190 kg.
As a Yamaha fan I find this quite underwhelming.
Very interested to see what the KTM 790 is going to offer, I have a feeling it will have better specs than the Tenere.
I mean , a 16 litre tank?????!!!!

The T7 has underwhelmed in practically every single way. Weight, power, suspension, fuel capacity.

The only aspect that is still left to claw back some credibility are the ergoís/handling.

I like the look of it though!

The 790 is going to BLOW it out the water in every way, guaranteed!

Hulle het die pot misgesit vir n baie klein, onbeduidende deeltjie van motorfiets kopers. Hy gaan verkoop soos soetkoek.

Toe die 660 Ten uitkom, huil almal hy is fantasties, net te swak. Nou is daar n Ten soos die 660, met meer krag, en julle huil steeds?

Miskien moet julle die 790 en T7 vergelyk deur n huidige vergelyking te doen. Neem die 690 en die 660, dan luister jy hoeveel 690 ouens is al teleurgestel met swak betroubaarheid, dan doen jy

dieselfde met die Yamaha 660T.

Hier was gister weer n post vir hulp......n man wat met n KTM met elektriese probleme langs die pad staan, met vroulief en al. :imaposer:

Once again there is a new bike , people have only ever seen it on paper and no one has ridden it but yet so many are already slating it , wait for the damn thing to arrive then make a verdict once you have ridden it .

Ek wonder ook waaraan meet die mense dat dit reeds 'n mislukking is? Of waarteen word sy spesifiekasies gemeet om uit te wys dat dit onmoontlik 'n suksesvolle reeks kan wees? Ek dink as ons terug kyk oor die laaste paar jaar was die krag honger honde maar altyd baie pessimisties oor nuwe modelle oor predekrag en dikte van furke en DCT ratkaste. Tog kan geen iemand ontken dat deur die loop van 2017 en 2018 dit deur en deur bewys is dat sukses meer te doen het met 'n paket wat werk as 'n ooglopende indrukwekende spec sheet. 'n Bietjie minder is dalk net heelwat meer.

This true though. It is just sad that we will have to wait until 2020 to test it.

These "people" will always make the biggest noise here on WD's - especially if the "noise" is anti-everything but "for" their KTM god ...
 
Just ignore them - Yamaha surely did - thankfully!!  :thumleft:
