Once again there is a new bike , people have only ever seen it on paper and no one has ridden it but yet so many are already slating it , wait for the damn thing to arrive then make a verdict once you have ridden it .

These "people" will always make the biggest noise here on WD's - especially if the "noise" is anti-everything but "for" their KTM god ...

Just ignore them - Yamaha surely did - thankfully!!  :thumleft:

Something about empty vessels making the most noise springs to mind

XSR 700 tribute to the XT500

Take a close look at this bike, and tell me what does it have to present itself as a "tribute" to the XT500??

Nothing on it even reminds me of anything on an XT500.

Panigale V4S

What a stunning bike !
Used the MotoGP engine as a base !

I saw the V4's being assembled during a factory visit in June. We were only allowed to look at the MotoGP manufacturing facility through a little port hole :P

Good to see that KTM has not ditched the 690.  I have done the work for you so we can save 25 pages of debate about the different/same frame.

This is for me ktms best release! :thumleft: @Amsterdam do you have a full pic of the KTM? I can't find anything.

All the hype and excitement - yet NONE of the new Adv releases has a "WOW" factor ...
Yes - neither the T7 nor the 790R seems like "game changers" - at least not on paper...

Maybe the "older" adv. bikes is so good - that given economic and emission constraints - the manufactures have reached a ceiling!!

The AT manual in the new colours excites me more than either the T7 or 790R - it's a solid and tested 1000cc - at only a little more than 20kg heavier - and it's built to last !!  :peepwall:

So if you are finished with "scramblers" like the 690/701 - like me - just accept the fact that you will be riding something between 205-230kg!!
Price, longetivity and your local Dealer is now even more important than ever!! ... and if 20kg is an issue - start working out a bit and just learn to pack lighter!!  :pot:
