Bundu Bash Recce 2018
« on: November 18, 2018, 07:45:43 am »
Bundu Bash is an annual off-road ride done in the KZN Midlands in early December, each year we start at a different spot and then ride to a different destination, somewhere out in the sticks.

This year is number 14 and we will be leaving from the World's View carpark and riding to Nip Inn in Bulwer.

After many hours spent poring over Google Earth, Duncan, the founder, and I spent the last 2 weekends sussing out dirt roads, paths and tracks to try and come up with a challenging enjoyable route.

Yesterday we spent the day riding between Elandskop and Bulwer.

The countryside is pristine and awesome.

Then out of the lush green hills and through the drier Ncwadi and Deepdale areas

Bumped into this young chap out on a training ride in the area, stopped for a chat. Travis Teasedale on his Beta getting ready for Roof, what a friendly bloke

And finally the last section into Bulwer, a few little river crossings and some nice rocky bits

Then heading along a  track that I saw on GE we came to a steep rocky section.

I rode as far up as I could then decided there was no point, Duncan wouldn't make it and it was definitely not suitable for our route.

@husky

Bundu Bash 2018 will be on Saturday 8 December and is open to everyone with a love for adventure and a suitable motorcycle.

No cost, no t-shirt and no back up medics with trailers.

I will post a thread in Planning a Ride closer to the time.

This ride is geared towards plastics, but a 650 class bike should manage fine

That is Duncan in the open face helmet, he doesn't ride fast enough to injure himself, although he usually finishes rides with some blood leaving his body  :imaposer:
