When the Honda guys retire or have mechanicals they're spoilt, arrogant, cry babies, riders broke the bikes etc. When the same happens to Yamaha riders it's 100% down to bad luck  :imaposer:
So then it begs the question, what is it that has made KTM dominant for so long? The other factory teams have the resources/ money and riders, why do they struggle to break the KTM dominance?

The answer is from 33.47 onwards...

Translates to the whole dual sport, off road side of the two wheeled world. Instead of building 690, 950, 500 bikes the whole Japanese side of things stagnated. The XR's and DR's really where the last of the dirt inspired offerings and for 20 odd years the same old models were rehashed and sold to the public with bold new stickers whilst KTM got on with things and really took over the market and all that translates into their domination of off road racing. KTM struggles in MotoGP for now because on the other side of the coin the Japanese are active and brings out new superbikes and R&D on a regular basis.

Honda has been racing Baja since the first XR came out, they know Baja inside out. Honda and Yamaha left Dakar in the mid 90ís giving KTM free range.

If they gave a KTM to one of the regular Honda riders of the Baja would he win?
For years Honda also dominated the Australian Rally.

And then some penpoeser at Honda decided to not make one of the best bikes ever better, but better yet let's stop making them. :deal: >:( :(

Rynet romps home to her maiden 2019 Dakar WD Thread victory. Even though I had my mapmen furiously plotting where I could shave off time, she comfortably held me and a late surge by Xpat off.

Her victory was largely due to her complete adulation for tall dark handsome Honda riders and an obsession for rally. Also, a particularly good eye for harvesting great photos from all corners of the web.

As has been pointed out, itís no coincidence that she too rides a KTM, as do the other two on the podium.

Her prize? Fame and adulation from the unwashed WD masses.

Roll on 2020!
I wonder where that road goes? And that, has usually made all the difference. Appologies to Mr Frost

Not even the Huskys superior suspension could handle that hit, glad he was not injured.

I have to eat humble pie and I said there is not a chance that Laia would beat Kenny or Ross, knowing just how fast they are on bikes.

But she proved me totally wrong.
What a performance Laia , you are a true legend of the sport.

Congrats Rynet, you are indeed an alien, who has mastered the skill of observing the details, making a call, and follow through. Of course all of this at race speed, ...while navigating the usual hazards of work, clients, and sleep time. Well done, and greetings from Portugal.  ;)
