It could still be for this edition or for a customer. The European cars are shipped from Le Havre (France) quite early as part of a package where they send cars, trucks, quads, bikes and backup vehices on one ship. Saves massive cost.

Toyota in SA fly their cars out to the race a few days before it starts, then normally assemble everything at a local Toyota Dealer in the start city, then do some shake down runs in an area nearby. So I would say they have until about Christmas to get a car together.

Been following Terence and his crew / workshop for a while now and helluva impressed with their approach and professionalism. I reckon they could compete with the tops boys if they had a top international driver and a little more support that side.

No specialist when it comes to racing cars but as an avid Dakar fan i must say that it is strange that people will start teams to run this race with a bakkie when all the evidence seems to point to the buggy settup as the way to go ?

I read the Toyotas are mid-engined for 2019. Hopefully they stand a good change in Peru, not that much high altitude stuff

Adrien Van Beveren is counting down the days to the 2019 Dakar Rally. Taking advantage of his sand racing skills, the Yamalube #Yamaha Rally rider will look to make this 41st edition of the prestigious event a memorable one.   :thumleft:
