Hi guys,
Three of us are planning a short trip end of next week. Day one of our trip will take us through Baviaans to Patensie where we will sleep the first night. We need some advice for the next two days and one night’s stay. The idea was to head East from Patensie. We prefer to avoid tar and do gravel as far as possible and need to end up in Steytlerville two days later. If the roads are not very technical we normally do 350 - 400 km per day. On this trip we are nog going to do difficult stuff like Grootrivierpoort/Antoniesberg ...
The idea was to go round the Southern side of the Addo elephant park and do a rough circle to end up in Steytlerville a few days later. I know the general area of the Eastern Cape reasonably well, but not the gravel roads as much and definitely not the current road conditions. So, I would appreciate some tips for nice routes and even good places to sleep for the one night before ending up in Steytlerville.
We don't mind camping and will travel light. Our bikes have reasonable fuel range of about 300+ km's per day. If needed we will also carry fuel cells.
