BMW Aluminium case inners
« on: December 05, 2018, 05:41:35 pm »
I bought a set of inners (top box and 2 panniers) for my 2015 LC Adventure with standard BMW aluminium boxes. These are now wearing out, especially the zips. No idea where I bought them.

Any suggestions on replacements? Tried Nomad. No go.

Cheers

Took mine to a "shoe repair" guy. Was able to repair a badly scuffed section that had a hole in it. Did such a good job matching the patch with the rest of the inner, you'd think it was original!
Got to use it many times over, no issues. Cost of repair - R22. Yes twenty two Rand! :thumleft:

You're a real classy dude I must say - what did your shiny new 1250Adv alone cost again, never mind the R30K pannier-set?
Besides, those plastic yellow Full Throttle bags are free contrary to those, some say overpriced, green cloth shopping bags, plus they're watertight!
You see, there's always one better.....

Uhm what?

I ride a 2007 GS and use soft luggage.

I will assume your comment is directed at some imaginary person that faces the challenges you describe.

Then why did you reply on a topic which concerns aluminium cases?

Pick n Pay 18 can cooler bags do the trick for the 37l side cases.
I use a 6 can cooler bag and a 12 can cooler bag for the top box

It is called good advice.

Use it dont use it. Some folks dont have money to waste and appreciate other approaches to problems.

Do I even need to explain myself? This is a forum and it is the whole purpose of having it.

I see a lot of comments asking about what bags are waterproof, do some of your panniers leak?. Iv done many thousands of Km with Bmw aluminum panniers and have never had a drop of water enter the boxes , might just be lucky.
