690 enduro neutral light
« on: December 26, 2018, 10:06:29 am »
Hey fellas,

I got an issue with the neutral light on the KTM. It doesn't light up even though the bike rolls freely with no clutch. It's not a major issue because I can still start it with clutch fully in. Does anyone know a quick fix or how to diagnose if it's the switch or just the bulb in the instrument panel.
I am pretty new to the whole biking game so I cannot see why a bulb would cause the bike not to start so I suspect the switch. Also if someone can post a picture of where it's located, I can try cleaning the contacts to see if that will solve it.

You are correct in that its nit the bulb. The switch is usually near the output sprocket and can be traced by the cable in that area. Often the wiring gets damaged in bikes in this areaand so a caredul poke around in that area will reveal something.  a can of brake cleaner aerosol to clean as u go is handy.
I dont own a 690 but I reckon a quick google for the.parts fische will show u where to start.
