In Echoes of an African War, the Rhodesian soldier-poet, Chas Lotter, has captured the experiences of his nine years of service during the Rhodesian War. His story begins with his basic training as a recruit and moves through the earlier quiet years of the war, before taking the reader into the turbulent, violent final years of Rhodesia.
Each poem is profusely illustrated with period photographs, many of which have never before been published.
Long acknowledged by soldiers world-wide, his work has now also been acknowledged by the academia with a doctoral thesis on his work being finalised in Cape Town, South Africa.
