Battery or something more exotic

Hi All

Battery has been on trickle charger for almost an year, I have multiple excuses for why this happened but none of them valid. Now for the question charger show battery is ok but when I switch ignition on the fuel pump dont kick in and when I press the start button the rev counter needle jumps and the lights om instrument panel dims and the starter doesnt even make a click noise. I will take the battery for proper test but just in case I would like to know if I should put in leave and start brushing off some choice curse words again.

Any advice, other than ride more, will be welcomed
