1. Work on my own bikes, so had so much prep work to do
2. Just some of the packing
3. Had a bunch of friends there to spectate all with bikes, so tried not to pack too much shit, knew they would sort me out if I needed anything

1. Wifes first time joining the roof, notice the dogs in the back, dropped them at parents farm on the way
2. First time experiencing the border like this. Packed to the brim with food and bike kak.
3. Taking it real easy for round the houses

What a small world. Your son joined me on a training ride one weekend. So actually know him.
Glad he did so well. Awesome job

Thanks  :thumleft:
Ya we were all quite surprised on the end results.
He is wanting to do Silver this year, but was told by Graham Hedcock, he must do Gold. So the bugger is not knowing what to do.
Graham has been with him from Junior class and said his riding skill has amazed him, on how quick he has picked up the pace.

But will see what the year hold in for Junior.

With Tankwa Rally Cross, he want to start racing Xcounrty and road map. So will see what happens to dads bank balance with a 450 and its kit. :peepwall:

Also wanted to do gold this coming roof, but it all depends on resources and how much time you have to train.
I get to ride on avg about 6 times a month. That just wont cut it. And that was while training for roof. Now its down to once a month again.
So difficult balancing family time and work, the bike time gets the back seat.

So I would say, if he can manage to find the time to train on the bike for 3 times a week with decent riders, then he will be fine.
I know some say you dont need to ride that much, but the pros have the skill mastered, they can work on fitness.
We must still spend time in the saddle to learn how to ride efficient.

Also note, there was a big step up from bronze to silver this year. 2018 and 2016 the gap was not that huge.
Let him progress into things naturally. He will then also feel prepared for gold.
Having the right mindset and confidence makes all the difference

I was very chuffed with the youngster, overall 28th in Silver :thumleft:
We had an awesome week in the mountains once again

@edgy
What are the odds. I spent a lot of time riding with your son on the Friday. Very nice guy, but that poor 125 did not do him any favours in some of the sections.
He still rode it like a machine and I actually took the time to compliment him on it.
Thx Pom17, wish I had known and could`ve had a chat.....very well done btw :thumleft:

BEER..."I drink it when I`m happy or when I`m sad. I drink it when I`m alone. When I have company I consider it obligatory. Trifle with it if I`m not hungry and drink it when I am. Otherwise, I never touch it - unless I`m thirsty"

Agree, would have been nice to have a chat and drink a few beers :thumleft:
Who knows, maybe we are both there again at the end of this year
