Hoekom soveel KTM 950 / 990's in die mark?

Ek weet mense wil graag op datum bly met die nuutste modelle, maar hoekom verkoop soveel mense nou hul KTM 950's en 990's?
Hule is soveel meer bekostigbaar vir eesrte keer "adventure" kopers, en bied alles wat jy wil he in n bike as jy meestal grondpad en rowwe terrein ry.
Die 1190's en 1290's is nou wel vinniger, maar ek het n 1190 op n slegte grondpad gery en hy is definitief nie n 990 nie!

Dit sal baie verg om my te oortuig dis beter bikes as n 990......
Miskien is die nuwwe 790's beter, ons sal moet sien.

Ek dink dit is maar ‘n geval dat jy die spesifieke model meer raak sien as iets anders omdat jy een ry.  Die ekonomie druk en die manne is besig om bikes/speelgoed te verkoop meer as wat hulle opgradeer in my opinie.  Die pryse is ‘n bietjie ‘all over the show’.

Myne is ook nie ver van in die mark sit nie.

My opinie. Hulle raak nou oud. Die jongstes is al 7 jaar oud die jaar.

Mens moet maar aanbeweeg met die tyd en tegnologie.

Ek kon die heel laaste 990 Adv op PE se vloer koop vir R120 000 brandnew.

Kyk wat vra die manne nou vir n 6 jaar oue bike  :peepwall:  :pot:

Ek dink dit is elders aangespreek ook, maar die 950 prysse is regtig all over the show , soos Kobus se.

Van R45k na  R75k, met kms wat naby aan 'n 100k draai.  Ek dink van die ouens is maar bietjie optimisties, maar in dieselfde asem nodig mens net een ou wat daai waarde sien.

It was exactly the same with the old Africa Twins. People sold them to do their usual upgrades and because of legend tax they were getting really good resale prices so it made sense

I see the same with these bikes.. I think some okes are just taking chances to try get as much legend tax out of the bike as possible, but as we saw with the Africa Twin, eventually its just an old bike with old technology and lots of km on the motor.

Sold my immaculate 2012 990 adv and got plenty legend tax. Added R35k to that and bought a 1090 R. Chalk and cheese. The 990 REALLY feels like a 10 year old bike when you ride the two back to back.

I do understand the cult following though..... super capable bike and very affordable until fairly recently.

Must say when the 990 is parked ANYWHERE the okes stroll over and take a look..... does not happen to many of the newer bikes... such is a legend I suppose ;) :biggrin: :thumleft:

Personally I will not swop my 990 for a 1090/1190 even a 1290.... have ridden them all but none stir me like the 990... :ricky:

My mate commutes with every day with me on his '98 Africa Twin, has done almost 200,000km on the bike and still goes like a boeing, so for a bike being over the wall at 7 years.... I beg to differ... ;)

Must say thanks to the guys who sold off their 990's, otherwise I would not have picked up my '08 with only 11500km on the clock.... :lol8:
