Jammer om te hoor Remy. Ek hoop jy kry jou fiets terug sonder enige skade...en natuurlik daai man se adres  :pot:

Could'nt have been planned very well if he rode off without a helmet..  :peepwall: :pot:

It amazes me that they can start up these bikes and ride off so easily.. how do they achieve this? do they just ram a screwdriver into the ignition?

He didn't need to do anything - he was given the key by the owner as he was "test riding" the bike up and down the street before he rode off with it

Have we established that the bike was actually stolen? Perhaps it's just a very extended test ride under various road conditions. Either way, I hope you get your bike back.

In this case it is theft.

Different scenario:
If however the "buyer" made an EFT or gave proof of payment and the seller willingly handed over the keys and the "buyer" rides away.......................and then reverse the
EFT payment with the seller ending up with no money, then it is not theft.
Then it is seen as business transaction gone wrong.   The seller sold the bike, he just did not receive money for it.
Insurance wont pay in such a case as it is not their fault that you are selling something and someone not paying you
for it.
Many would think that it is wrong/unfair, but there has been judgements made about this and even the Ombudsman
for Short term insurance made a ruling a few years ago.

A business transaction gone wrong sounds so diplomatic. It sounds like something the Gupta's would say. Normal guy on the street calls it fraud  :imaposer:
