Friday

Wynand had to stay behind and wait for his son and would then go to BW. :-\

Hein still had issues with the 800 and Johlan would go with him back home via the N9.   :thumleft:
What I forgot to mention was it was Johlan’s first real gravel trip and he did great, well done. :thumleft: :thumleft:

Lood and I would do Prins Alfred and depending the time and inland weather (Bloem washed away the previous day  :eek7:) we would decide where to hit tar.
After thanking Wynand for his hospitality we set off.
Lood’s bike still periodically lost power.  We would keep an eye on it.

We popped in at The Map of Africa.

In Knysna we filled up.

The Alfred’s pass was full of pockets and made for a very bumpy road.  ???

I was wondering how Lood’s bike was doing when he stopped where I was waiting and it died. :patch:

He ran started it and we began looking for a spot where the log lorries wouldn’t kill us. :deal:

We found a suitable spot and it wasn’t long before we found the fault. It made for a welcome break, both our arses were sore from the previous couple of days.

Spitskop and despite the fires it was still beautifull.

Something interesting – and it works if you blow on it. :imaposer: :ricky:

Lood finally found it :pot:

It was scorching hot. Angies doesn’t have their usual sign of “Hot beer, lousy food, bad service” up anymore they must have had VERY added to that and waiting for the sign to come back. R40 bucks for two cans of cooldrink. :eek7:

The pass was VERY, VERY dry. We made Uniondale (very clean town) and it was already late.
We decided to gun it for home as the news from home was heavy rains.

Close to Middelburg we got our first light rain and it got heavier as we approached home.  In the end it was not to bad and we made Colesberg just as it was getting dark.  Tampan had 40km to go to get to the farm but the rain had lifted.

Lood thanks for the companionship and the heavy lifting. :thumleft:
Wynand and Johlan for your hospitality
Hein for all the stories along the way - Richterveld in May you said? :deal: :deal: :deal:

Dit was nou 'n lekker storie.   :thumleft: :thumleft:

Ek het een Saterdag by Rietbron se tennisklub gestop vir 'n koue.  Moes myself later wegsleep daar.  Vriendelike mense.

Indeed. Many thanks to the group for a really awesome trip!

To Jean, a special word of thanks for the ride and taking all the time and effort to keep on taking pictures, regardless of some days getting extremely long and tiresome. Reading the RR and looking at all the pictures afterwards is always very, very rewarding. He's one of those guys that you really want with you on a trip! :thumleft:
