Fantastic man!

Have an awesome time, the very best of luck, and never say die... never give up.  :thumleft:

We have now been on the ground for 5 full days and we feel we have achieved a fair amount of progress.
I had tried to have a pickup lined up for when we landed in Edmonton- sadly it was sold. A friend down in Red Deer (about one and a half hours south) had offered to sell us a Chevy Malibu from his mothers estate. It is a huge help as it gets us up and mobile and will be a great car for the Mrs to take over. We spent Friday night at our friends acreage- he also has a shop of note! Saturday was then our next roadtrip down the back roads heading "home". Awesome awesome awesome.

Home is a basement suite- fully furnished and including all utilities. This also helps get us up and running without too much added stress. It landed up being nicer and bigger than our expectations which is a nice bonus. Sunday evening was spent with Steph's new boss and family. They are very down to earth and the Canadians have a very similar sense of humour- it goes a long way to feeling at home.

Monday has been the first day of work for Steph. We are close enough for an 8min walk and I walked her to work to make sure she knew the way. This morning was -1 with a windchill of -4. Nice spring day. Mid day we are getting up to between 6 and 8. We went to register for the Alberta Healthcare cards- free medical paid by the taxes. Prescription meds, dental etc are for your own account though. Still better than back home.

Will keep everyone posted as I do some truck shopping!!

Yesterday we woke up to a sprinkling of the white stuff. Temp was -3 with a wind chill of -9. To be honest.. JHB does feel colder. By mid morning the snow had stopped and in the afternoon it had already melted away as to the previous photos you see. Next week spring is on its way with a high of 13!

i would have encouraged my wife to run around the garden naked,  catching snowflakes on her tongue.
i mean,  how many times are you going to get to do that in your life.
i can imagine it would have been a harder sell with your wife...

Your wife would tell you to F@CK right off though
Just because your past did not turn out like you wanted it to does not mean your marriage will not be better than you ever imagined it could be.
