After some valuable feedback from many forumites I eventually bit the bullet and got me a brand spanking new 500EXC-F. Hell this thing is a far cry from my PE185 PE175 of days gone by. But then, that was almost 30 years ago. 
Anyway, here's a pic of the result of my latest itch to have some fun - and he's sitting on my new 500 :ricky:
Things to do, though:
Get stiffer springs (I'm a tad heaver than the "recommended" 85Kg rider : )
Install the roadworthy kit (indicators, etc)
Get hold of an ignition switch (not having an ignition switch is messing with my head a bit)
Finish the first two tanks to get the initial service done
Install the extras (mostly protection stuff)
It's gonna be fun!
