KTM 990 The legend Tax cuts
« on: March 22, 2019, 12:37:42 pm »
2010 KTM 990 Adventure R, with 79000km on the clock, R95000 R89000  now only R85000.

2008 KTM 990 Adventure  48942km on the clock, R90000 now only R85000

I have been looking at these prices for the last 3 months , Gumtree, KTM facebook groups, Meerkatte, Adventure Bike sites, all over.... and it seems that the LTax is not realizing, they are just not selling at the inflated prices  ::), I know of one that came on the market at a reasonable private sale price and was sold within 2 days....some have been on the market for 4 months  :o with the positive reviews the 790 is getting, the market is about to be flooded with down-up grades (down on kw, up in technology  :ricky:)

Or am I wrong  :peepwall: :pot:

How much are you willing to pay?

Whats wrong with Etienne2T bike at R82 000 ? Its only got 30 000 km on it and has just been serviced ?

For what you get, compared to new, those prices are a bargain.

Wait till you wanna buy the same bike with its SE clothes on.

Maybe those with 90k cash lying round would rather put it down as a payment on new. These older models can't be financed anymore, right?
Don't let fear hold you back ..... take it with you!

I have considered buying a ktm 990 but am also concerned that they are over priced and I don't know what sort of mileage a person could expect out of a motor.  I am a Bmw guy that believes the ktm are on a different level when it comes to gravel.  Legend yes.......    Over priced when it is a bike that can't even be financed. Not good.  I still think I should buy one some day.  Every petrol head buys a alfa once.

The KTM LC8 engine must rate as one of the strongest and most durable ever built

How many broken LC8 engines have you ever seen?

I have seen 5 with more than 100 000 kms on that have never been opened

Briv (the OP in this thread) had one before he went all BMW bevok - he has obviously realised the error of his ways and now wants another KTM ... I cannot understand the thinking of these boertjies

Maak nie saak hoeveel jy vir n LC8 betaal nie, dit bly n bargain.

I think there are already lots of bike hitting the market in anticipation of the 790.

From the sound of it the wait for a 790 might be very long.

I withdrew the sale of my 990. Wanted to upgrade to a new 1090. Started  to do the math;

- New 1090 R204000
- kitted with all the extras my 990 has R240000

The end..

Times are tough all bikes take longer to sell.  Regarding the legend tax I had  a BMW GS 1200 adventure and now the Ktm 990.

Ownly 990 owners would understand the legend tax.  :pot:

The biggest drop in prices will be the 1190's I rate but the 990's will take a knock as well

So for interest sake...

What would you think is a fair price on a 2011 990R with 45k on the clock?

Pretty good condition, has a few marks etc like most of these bikes have but not been pulled through an arse.

Just wondering since you think 85k is way too much.

All depends on whether you are buying or selling

If selling then its way too cheap ...adjust price to R125K

If buying then its always too much ... offer R65K
