I had my std silencer gutted , sound is nice but there is still that itch for a nice aftermarket silencer , I bought a damaged ACRO  from the salvage yard , stripped it , to rebuild but now not so keen to spend the money on it , Would like something nice with a nice bark , Like the ARROW ,Had a look what is available , to possibly import , but with exchange rate and shipping , mite as well support the suppliers here that has the stuff in stock and can offer back up with parts if need be.
I will bide my time , and then give me a present from me to me in the form of a nice exhaust , Acro looks nice but does not have the bark ( std) Arrow in comparison nice , have heard a Hepco  , and Yoshi , ACRO , ARROW ,Some pretty quiet for a afremarket exhaust .  Maybe its just me but if you spending money on a aftermarket silencer then it has to bark , if no bark just looks , then mite as well stick to the stock one .

More Danie

I can only speak for the 1190R, decat breaches your warranty. Therefore, I put a slip-on on the bike. Only when the warranty expired did I have the section with cat cut out.

Depends who you ask. RAD used to offer to do the decat for you on new bikes.

Having said that, for now I do t see the need. There’s plenty power, I just wanted some more noise so stuck a stock Superduke can on. Sounds better than an Akra, can basically find them for free

The only “full system” I remember seeing was the Arrow one, but some folks had some quality complaints. I don’t reckon it’s worth the money and effort myself.

RAD still offers to decat the zorst for R2500. They send it away to some welding specialist apparently.

I was fortunate enough to find a second hand Ackro in pristine condition for less than half the price of a new one. I was even luckier when I went to collect it and found the previous owner has already removed the decibel killers.

Sounds fantastic, looks great and performance difference from the stock can was immediately noticeable.

I have now installed the fueling dongles to bypass the lambda sensors and CAT's, which i have left in place until my warranty expires.

I bought a slightly damaged Akro , can be repaired and would be nice to fit to a R bike that does a lot off offroad . At the moment the pipe is in pieces , will require new packing , a good coat of paint , ( previous owner  decided a black pipe would be nice ) all parts available .
I weighed up the cost of a new service kit and heel plate , and in the end decided to park the idea of a rebuild, as I had a gutted exhaust on the bike .....
Enter Santa in MAY  8) 8) 8) , I got a awesome deal an a ARROW , and pulled the trigger on a brand new can , Black with carbon end tip  , Looks awesome on the bike , Now just have to get my leg to heal 100 per sent ( pulled hamstring after a misstep off my bike ) to go for a ride to compare the bark , start up in the garage has the new Can sounding more bass , and the Gutted one more treble . Arrow has a deeper sound , std more tinny .

Those Arrows do tend to sound really nice on the 1190s.

You must send me pics of that Akra.

Curious as to what constitutes an "awesome deal"? Care to share what you paid?

I can share the price , but please take in to account that My Son works for a KTM dealer , and gets a staff discount . this means that the general public wont be able to get the same , price was cost plus 5% . And then I can claim the vat so just over , more or less 6 k  :deal:

Only thing better than that price is when your father in law gifts you a akra racing pipe from an Aprillia RSV4 which he replaced with an Austin after 400-500km of use...

It's straight through, smaller and the noise from it is a pure symphony back fire at around 4000-5000rpmhttp://cloud.tapatalk.com/s/5ccffb6b0f09b/VID_20190504_165533.mp4

Not a 1090, 1190 or 1290 but I have the Barkers on my 990.

Quality is good - they sound seriously wicked.

Busy with a SAS removal - will see (or shall I say hear) the difference when that is complete.

Did anybody investigated this option from china yet ... check the link below ... it looks on picture identical to the ACRO exhaust ... i mailed the factory a while ago who responded saying ....

"The KTM1290 exhaust system is made of pure titanium material, with carbon fibre endcap, it is very good quality. It is USD810. Do you need us to arrange the shipping?" ...

remember this is a full system ... to me it looks good ... also no catalitic converter

After i googled the factory ... take a look at manufacturer site

(I wonder if these guys don't manufacture exhausts for Acropavic)

It looks good.  I had a full TI system on my 990 SMT and I reckon the entire system weighed less than 1 of the stock cans. It was amazing quality (Actual Akra though)

that pic looks good - I've bought a lot of stuff from china in the past years and the quality has definitely improved - I'd give it a shot, provided the supplier has some references and the price is not absurdly cheap, but just check your total costs after import charges
