High fender mod
« on: April 17, 2019, 12:02:26 pm »
Hi guys
Just some info for those who are keen on the high fender mod.
A list of parts I used.
Polisport sm line front fender
Ktm 150sx acerbis  fork guards
1.5m braided brake line.
Rawl bolt (cant remember the size)
L shape metal bracket for the fork guards and a few cable ties.
All came to just under R2000.
Front fender comes with mounting brackets. Drilled a hole in the middle and used the rawl bolt to mount it
on the lower yolk.

Nice mod, what I would do if I had a AT.

Looks OEM'ish too.  :thumleft:

Looks good! ..... but won't the high fender affect handling at high speed?
When you look at the Dakar machines, you'll notice they only put high fenders on for muddy terrains.... I was told that high fenders catch wind at high speeds and cause weaving.

Just another question/comment....doesn't it leave the radiators more exposed to stones being possibly picked up by the front tyre?

I had the same conversation with Leftless regarding this
I think a proper guard would be a must then

I also would like to do this conversion as I got stuck this weekend with clay buildup in the low front fender.

Could you please post a few closeup pics of the new brake hoses.

The front mudguard has a blue sticker, where did you source that?
