Hi people please help.
My neighbours XR125 is driving us mad.
Bike will start but won't idle, so you turn the idling screw in, then it's fine. If you open and close the throttle it takes a while for the revs to drop.
OK now you take it for a ride (on a farm, going slowly), after a 5 or 10 minute ride the revs gradually climbs and climbs. By now you have to pull the clutch in on down hills as it just accelerates. At this stage, if you rev it, it take a long time for the motor to return to idling speed.
So WTF? Bike is in very good nick. Not a old piece of scrap.
Every thing in the carb looks fine. We have even checked the valve clearance hot and cold.
So please guys, what are we overlooking?
