Day 11.4: Brandberg to Usakos

We stopped at the filling station in Us for fuel and ice cream!

Pic 1: The DRs puncture being repaired. Mom Elsabie, feeding Janco, as he is balancing the DR!

Pic 2:  The gravel highway from Us, approaching Spitzkoppe.

Pic 1: The team relaxing at the rest area at Spitzkoppe. No evidance of any weight loss, as we were well fed by the Specialised Adventures team!

Day 11.5: Brandberg to Usakos

After we rested, Hardy and Kobus loaded Johan Harmse's XR, and we routed for Usakos. ;)

The extra vehicles and trailers were waitiing for us behind the Engen at Usakos. ;)

Bikes were loaded on trailers, our transfer (taxi) arrived, and after buying ice cream and cold drinks, we hit the road to Windhoek, passing the towns of Karibib and Okahandja on the way. A rest stop was made at the latter. :thumleft:

After a journey of 180km, we arrived in Windhoek, were we stayed at the Safari Hotel. :thumleft:

We all opted for the buffet, and some drinks, before hitting the sack early, as some of us would be travelling at 4 the next morning, to catch our flight back to Johannesburg. :o

Pic 1: Abel, now an experienced adventure rider, styling it for a pic at the Engen filling station.

Pic 2: Rest stop at Okahandja. Brian, Henk, Hennie Roos, Hennie Oubones.

Jip, ladies and gents, that is the end of the most amazing and memorable adventure of my life. ;)

I went on this adventure to have fun riding, and experience this incredible part of Namibia. It ticked those boxes for sure!

Yes, it was a supported trip, but that is the way I wanted it to be. I was in the army more than 30 years ago, and didn't want to relive it again....I didn't even consider entering the Quest, as I wanted to enjoy some degree of luxury, and not have the "Corporal" drilling me! :imaposer:

Regardless of how you do it, supported/unsupported, having an adventure in Namibia on two wheels, should be riight at the top of your bucket list! ;)

Thank you to Specialised Adventures, my fellow riders and my family, for this incredible oppertunity!

I will still add some info and pics of my bike and trip preparation. :thumleft:

Signing off for now with a pic of my trusty steed! :ricky:

:thumleft:  :thumleft:  :thumleft:

Net so effe jammer julle het so min ellies gesien en lyk my glad nie 'n renoster of twee nie.

Dankie #chopperpilot. Dis was 'n lekker RR.
life is too short to play golf
