G450X Stator Rewind
« on: May 06, 2019, 08:31:02 am »
Just a heads up if you find yourself in my shoes (battery not charging), if you need to have your stator rewound (much cheaper than having it replaced)... Initially I got Roger Steele's number from @BiG DoM, but he quoted roughly R1K and I had to postnet it to P.E and wait about 10 days.

I found this guy in Pta that does it for R350, and he took 2 days. His name is Josť, his number is 0825688923. Gave him my burnt stator on Tuesday, Thursday he phoned and it was done! The rewind looks pretty decent too, and now I have a battery that is being charged.

While I'm normally hesitant with guys that work from home, he was referred to me by an auto-electrical shop here in Pta so I thought I'd take a chance on him.

Maybe this info can help someone else too. :ricky:

Great info. I am pleased you came right. Did the stator burn like the pic of mine and a few others on the G450X Forum?

Indeed, no burning visible from the front... removed stator and burnt at the back. It doesn't seem significant, but most burning became visible once the outer layers were unwound.

Up and running, thanks to your input and your related thread on the other 450 forums.  :thumleft:
