That looks to be a 1.1 Europa?

Almost bought one years ago, had a chain drive conversion on it.

Mate of mine had one that looked identical to the one in your photo........holy cow, that thing was pretty quick on the drag! Not so much when it got to anything that looked like a bend or a corner though.

Nice

I cant find any info on this model. Even tried running the VIN through some online decoders and nothing. Xs1100.com has a list but nothing that matches. The owners said its a 1980 model.

Thanks for that Sam, really enjoyed reading that. I was in the army in 82 so although I knew of Rod Gray this part of history is news to me. I have saved it and is now seriously reconsidering.

I had the 1.1 Europa that I bought new in 82 or 83, the model no. was XS1100 RH, loved that bike and did many miles with it; the Europa came standard with round headlight and bikini fairing as well as the smaller teardrop tank (fitted the larger tank) and gold coloured wheels, this one is probably the regular 1.1

I can remember being an 8 year old back in '78 and slipping into the garage while my dad was at work to fire the starter button and hear that 1.1 run (he always parked on centre stand).... it had a Cowley 4-1 and was loud as shite (still is coz I now own it)... Used to love blipping the throttle and dreaming if riding it... :thumleft:

I used to get gossebumps and was scared as hell cause if he caught me he would belt the daylights off my arse.... :lol8:

Well if anyone wants to buy this and make it a donation to me, I'm more than willing to accept
and undertake the restoration.
I'm needing a project for when my house restoration is complete.
