:thumleft:

Sal later foto post maar hegtings is so dat verstellings maklik is en as jy hom reg het lock jy hom

Now that I have received the first part the excitement has started. Besides what I've learnt so far from Mr Google and chatting to a few guys, I really know nothing about sidecar build. Besides some basic dimensions I don't work from measurements. I lay it out and put it together. How difficult can it be  :lol8:

Some here in PE might know Davie from Davie's Motors. A DIY genius who can fix anything. I've know him since I was a young snot nose and much of what I can do I learned through him. His approach is that with a bit of skill (acquired through watching, learning and doing), time and the right tools, he can do anything.

Many years ago I walked into his workshop and he was working on a chassis. I asked what it was and he said he is building himself a s/s Nomad to pull his boat. I asked where did he learn to do it, and he said he didn't... he is busy learning how to do it. And that is how its been.

To me he is the ZEN in the Art of Motorcycle maintenance, and I'll dedicate this build to him. (seeing as how he is going to have to help me a lot  )

So here is the plan,... fit wheel to hub, fit hub to swingarm, build frame around swingarm, fix frame to bike, add a tub, get on and ride. Easy  :ricky:

Onthou ek het my sidecar baie ver van my fiets omdat hy eers 'n swivel was...toe moes daar spasie wees as bike kantel.
Dus myne track wyer as 'n SUV.

:thumleft:

These are the basic dimensions I'm building around. From various sources my people have come up with these figures. Not set yet, so comments welcome.
