Last night the handlanger and I put the rolling chassis together for a final check. ( He's full of shit, so it helps to let him check. I tend to take short cuts) Just some small things left, like lugs on the subframe for the belly pan and then finish off for powder coating. This thing takes a shit load of nuts and bolts.  :eek7: And then we measured up the tub.

Lots of small things were done in the mean time, like fitting filler and drain plugs for the frames, making bushes to fit parts together, finishing off the swingarm pivot, etc. It just does not stop.

Three months down the line I can tell you this, I've enjoyed myself a lot, but its a shit load of work and time. If I had the cash together at one time, I would have paid Humfree the R125k to put a sidecar on the bike. Its a bargain.  :lol8:

And that is the rolling chassis done. At 78kg I'm not too unhappy. Was hoping for closer to 60kg. Reckon however I'll still come in at 110kg completed.

Everyday I have a specific reason to get out of bed. Why else would you bother if there is no purpose. Today... taking all the bits and pieces for powder coating.  We getting there.

:thumleft: Sofar I've enjoyed it very much There was lots of puzzling involved because of the way I work, but it all came together nicely Proof will be in testing, but sofar all the specs are on the number, bar maybe a kilogram or so but lots of guys say don't try and build light. You need the weight if the bike an pull it and the 1150 can. Seems there is good reason Ural build their frames out of 50 pipe  :lol8:

Parts dropped off for powder coating. I don't enjoy the waiting. I want it together now and ride it, but there is still a lot to do. In the mean time we tweaking the tub design, hopefully to start cutting and bending next week.

Saw this this morning at a Cape Dealership we are looking at h/bar supplying bags too, and thought of you, Gerrard, and others possibly, SEEMS to my unpracticed eye to be a lot of bike and sidecar for not a lot of money?

Cheers
