just bought the KTM powerparts bracket and case.
the bracket appears to bolt onto the handle bars as one would expect,  then on the back of the phone case there is an adaptor which mates with the phone case.
bracket R1100
phone case R600
unfortunately still on order,  and due to arrive with my akra and bash plate.
here's hoping their expensive powerparts solution works...

What is the part number for the bracket and case?

Or you have a phone that can handle the heat...  >:D

My Blackview has spent days in full sun under a windscreen in Namibia, Kalahari and Richtersveld on super hot days and haven't overheated yet.

and also MAPS.ME for total off-line navigation.

I thought to emphasize that bit a bit  ;)
Awesome app for when offline or abroad  :thumleft:
I loaded Maps.me and ended up with an app called Runtastic?? ???

Very strange.....I have MAPS.ME loaded and it works forken well.

Iím with you on this one. Apart from heat, dust, water & vibration, my phoneís replacement price is double that of an expensive GPS unit which is designed to be exposed to elements, can be used with gloves and have proper routing and tracking features.

Most new phones are dust and water/splash proof. Never had an issue so far.

Just one question.....err......why?

Some people use motorcycles to go places.

It is handy for navigation using Google maps or some other navigation software.

I have been looking for a good sturdy mount. Having to memorize a route fully before setting of is getting old.

Phones come with earphones.

If you using google maps there is someone inside the phone who shouts the directions at you just in case you too busy looking at the road to look at the screen  :imaposer:

The person inside the phone shouts so loud that it goes through the wires and into your ear, so all you have to do is turn left when they tell you to.

 :laughing4: :laughing4:

I joke around but honestly that is what I do.. punch in the address and put the phone in my pocket or backpack with one earphone in my ear.. follow the directions and OLE.. done.

Upon arriving in the UK, before I purchased the Zumo, I found this unit in an accessory shop.

Itís a rugged waterproof case with solid bracket compatible with Ram ball mounts. Can be mounted horizontally or vertically. The case clicks securely into the mount and has a sliding lock to prevent it coming loose.

Not sure if anyone in SA stocks these but can reccomend it if you want a solid mount that keeps your phone in one piece.

Manufactured by Tigra.

Edit: They manufacture a unit with wireless charging for the new models.

This is one serious phone mount  :thumleft:

Looks very tough, and I'm sure if you tightened the screw with a vice grip you'd crush the phone, but does it cater for vibration and will it hold the phone when there's a jolt?

I use the Ram X-Mount with it's rubber stretch grip - taken it through Nam and Bots, and some of the Karoo's best and it holds my iPhone better than glue, even when I've dropped the bike.
