If you do anything rough/off road for lengths of time you may well find your cameras etc fucking out. Phones are not designed for this abuse. Fine for bicycles and tar. For anything else just get a bike GPS imho.

My thoughts exactly :thumleft:
I had an HTC HD2, was a great fone, until I mounted it. Even on tar, after a few months the camera focus mechanism came loose and rattled around inside.
Although the construction of fones has been made more rugged over the years, it still isnt built for that.
Having said that, my soon to be useless brick Huawei fone has been mounted for a long time with no issues.

Yip lost the camera on my Iphone7 because of riding off road with it mounted to the Valcano cheapy mount. Road my new phone can sit in mount, off road its in the pocket. got an old phone with Maps.me to mount offroad for nav.

I have a couple of old Android phones - so plan is to use one of them for navigation.

Would not be funny if your day2day phone falls out or gets damaged.

The new Samsung Phones, S9 and S10 have a very small mechanical iris that control the aperture. Now this is micro mechanisms. Personally I doubt it is made for vibrations

Funny enough, I looked at that as well - decided it was too flimsy where it attached to the bars - guess I was wrong!''

Bought this instead

OK - installed mine eventually - the one I posted on page 1 - and there's a problem.......

The mount is fine, but when the phone is in the holder, one of the 4 fingers pushes the volume button, which, when held down, activates an emergency signal of some sort....... If you move the phone to avoid the buttons, its not centered in the holder - not critical, but it looks kak.....

Not sure if it is the same thing ?

takealot rook 'n man

only thing is i can collect for free from takealot - geewiz shipping etc ends up adding to the price

Just mailed them. R49 delivered to my door for 2 units
Even with delivery, geewiz is cheaper than takealot. Bought one tonight. Including postage, R217

Some feedback

Works like a charm (On road that is)

I fiddled with the rubbers to make it fit on the center of the handlebars.  No vibrations, I can see clearly on the screen (even read on it while riding)

I will probably play it safe and only stick to road use for now since I am using my day to day phone atm.

Anyway, good buy.

Thx @Offroadrider

My Blackview has spent days in full sun under a windscreen in Namibia, Kalahari and Richtersveld on super hot days and haven't overheated yet.

@Kortbroek, what is the screen visibility like in the sun?
