Thanks for replies.
Consensus seem to be heat on sticker first(not heatgun), and then some of the other stuff.

Was also given the advise of spraying cook.

That's my go to one lately.

Acetone melts plastic and thinners dissolve paint don't use it  :thumleft:

I think people use the term thinners, as a generic, for turpentine and benzine etc, they are in for a nasty surprise if they use laquer thinners :sip:

Don't dismiss paraffin - cheap and it works too.

I use Brasso.

I have also found this works for a number of applications where there is sticky label glue residue - there is something in it that does the trick.

Is there not some kind of 'rubbing compound' in brasso?  Might damage top layer of paint / surface.

Is there not some kind of 'rubbing compound' in brasso?  Might damage top layer of paint / surface.

Very very fine polish - if anything it polishes paintwork. I use it on Perspex for the finest polish.
