Bike Storage Short-mid-long term @ Rockfox
« on: June 06, 2019, 08:58:19 am »
Hi Guys,

We have been toying with the idea for a while now and I have finally decided to put it out there. We will be opening some space in the workshop for bike storage. We already store a few bikes for various friends and family.

It will be stored in an alarmed, locked garage on the property where we work from and live as well. Our opening / Intro pricing is currently at R350/month for the storage, bikes will then be put under cover and kept clean and safe.

We will also be investing in a larger trickle charger that we could connect to the bike for R50/month

We are designing various once off packages that can be purchased that could included any of the following.
  • Lift both wheels of the ground to save Tires
  • Spray bike completely with de-watering fluid and silicone (still investigating the pros and cons)
  • Drain fuel from system

Some of the finer details will be Ironed out over the next month or 2 but we are open and ready for you.

If you would like more info drop me an email - mike@rockfox.co.za

Thanks guys

Great idea - I thought about this a while back too - you might also want to think about the insurance aspect, that was our stumbling block....

The prudent thing to do is to notify your own insurance of storage/overnight location change.

It is part of your policy that you have to declare where the vehicle is stored at night and during the day.

It would be good to see the difference in insurance premiums , you may actually save money with it being stored in a secure place which would offset against the storage fee.. good idea

Storing 2 bikes one crashed and broken with various bits in boxes and one he uses as an event bike. Things are getting moving. Lets get the word out there guys.

Thanks

I am watching this keenly, as we may have some upheaval due to residential development in our neighbourhood, and could be looking for storage for about 9 bikes by Jan.2020.

Most non-runners, some even in boxes.

Anytime, if it goes oke the next few months I might even have some workshop space open like we wanted to do a few years back. were you can rent space and tools and machines to work on the bikes.

As long as you remember there needs to be at least 1 BMW between the 9 :pot:.

Depending on the amount of space and if we can pack them we can see how many bikes in boxes we can fit in one space and work some discount onto it.

No BMW's, only real bikes :peepwall: :pot:

Sounds good Mike, I will talk to you soon as I know this side.
