I was experiencing a very jerky throttle response on my 690 since I bought it and found it difficult to keep the power smooth over bumpy surfaces, especially technical routes.

Here is what i did to make throttle smoother and more manageable.
I removed the accelerator cover on the handle bar, unclipped the cables and took off the brush guard so I could remove the accelerator grip. With the grip in my hands, I took a 115mm grinder with a 1mm thick steel cutting disc (available from any hardware store) on and carefully ground the plastic down in the cable groove. NB, make sure you do the cable pull side only! I ground back about 2 cm along the plastic until I nearly reach the inside of the grip, I gave it 1mm clearance so I did not go right through the plastic.

Works like a charm................ O0
