But if you just came out the pub after a good session, the TDC wasn't too clear. Could be quite painful on the instep if you're only wearing vellies or slops.

Those decompressors used to carbon up pretty fast. Used to kick mine regularly with slops when going for a surf, had a board rack on the side then realised it was easier to just sit on the boards' nose while riding.
