This afternoon I switched my ’77 R80/7 on again after a hiatus of almost two years. I first replaced all the oils, charged the battery and she took with the first ignition. I took it gently. Nursed her back to life by closing the throttle after the first three or so seconds and repeating the exercise quite a few times in order to first “swing” the engine and then let her idle for a few minutes at around 800 revs. She purred.
