I truly love all 70's bikes, a golden era and today some very collectable ones from that decade.

Of course, on a personal level, that's the era I started getting my teeth into bikes, so naturally very special.

Era of all the kawasaki and Suzuki triples, the best DT Yamaha's, the aircooled RD twins and the legendary first LC.

And the whole customer-based Yamaha TZ range. :eek7:

In fact, bikers can never have it that good again! :'(

Rode a friends IT, though I don't think it was a 175, I'm leaning towards a different size engine, it had nice decent suspension in the day
and a reliable engine.

the reason why I remember some of these blue old Yamaha bikes is the memory of flipping a 465 on the beach once the powerband kicked in and the knobbly hooked up in second. the PE400 I rode on a few occasions seemed like a better tractor without any nasty surprises.

That old air cooled IT brings back good, very good memories......oh, and one very bad one when I truly thought I'd back-boned myself at the MX track in Somerset west. Spent the night under observation at the Helderberg Hospital. Fantastic bikes they were.

Thanks for sharing all these pics.

Not yet old, and not collectible because it's not stock.
But a little bit on the scarce side - early 80's SR500.
