The reason I post the problems I encounter with my S10 is that others with the same bike and high mileage might learn from my experience. I have had problems with steering bearings from day one. I have so far used four sets. I was socked to learn from a friend that with over 100,000km, he is still on the first set.
It is important how one checks and maintains the steering bearing every service interval for play or roughness (lubricate only with lithium grease). In replacing the bearings, I also learnt that they way they are torque is sequential Service manual page, 3:20ff and 4-92ff.
Anyone done this work before?
