Aw shit no. Gonna get banned again, pushing your luck with that political signature line. :deal:
Succumb not to the erosion of those born of unconsecrated union.

"Two Wheels, an engine and a place to sit." What more do you need?

"They" say I confuse wanting to stay young with wanting things to stay as they were when I was young.

It's only racist when you put a colour in front of it. So yes, all lives matter.

Remember that old 2008 Honda Ridgeline RTL I found left to die that I could buy for stupid money?

She's been in Michigan her entire life.

Look what road salt and chemicals applied to roadways during winter do to aluminum wheels, if you don't keep them washed.

Perforated leather seats still in nice shape for the age.  Original owner must have applied leather cleaners and conditioner to the seats.

If I tell you what the slang term for the steering wheel cover is, I'll get in trouble for being racist, even though the term is used by every race here!

Heated front seats.

Dual automatic climate control.

6-disc cd changer.

Flip up rear seats is a nice feature.

Rusty hitch needs to be torched off I'm sure, and the towing electric are quite vulnerable in that mounting position.

Has a fiberglass Leer topper that I can sell separate from the truck.

Owner, 75, forgot his electric trolling motor was still attached to his boat, he jackknifed too much, crunch.

Owner claims all brake components need replaced.

More peekchas of what could be a nightmare of a money pit if I pull the trigger on this old girl.

Transverse engine front wheel drive based truck  :patch:  I'll discuss the issues with these trucks soon.

Engine oil has a lovely brown tinge, meaning it is doing its job, looks very clean.

It little buildup but nothing concerning to me.  Nothing a few flushes with new oil couldn't cure most likely.

I asked the owner when the last time the cabin air filter, not to be confused with the engine air filter, had been changed.

His reply, was what is a cabin filter.  I accepted his reply and after scoping out the condition of the area above the firewall it's a nooooooooooo!

Iirc, the motor design is from a long time ago, when Acura developed the engine for their TL sedan and Honda Passport minivan.  The engine is a fairly reliable design, unfortunately, Honda has had issues with their transmissions in their V6 cars, suv, and trucks.

Keihin T.B.I.

A good amount of miles left in the old girl, it's time for a test drive.  More on the test drive soon.

Well, although risky, I purchased the old girl after reading they typically will run 300,000-350,000 miles before the engines go bad.

Some months back, after some negotiation with the owner, I paid $1,000usd for it.  Maybe I'm crazy.

The only thing left to do is shampoo the front carpet again and install some new floor mats.

The truck drives so well, I'm hesitant to sell it.  The engine purrs like a kitty and uses no oil in the 2,000 miles I've driven it.  The transmission shifts smoothly.  With new struts and drag links, everything feels tight.  The only thing I can't seem to narrow down is an odd slight vibration between 70-80mph.  It's either a CV axle or the balance on one of the passenger side wheels is slightly off.

The following is a list of parts I've installed or had installed:

Honda OEM parts

2 new rear Brake Rotors $219
2 new front Brake Rotors $213
2 new Rear Brake Calipers $307
2 new Front Brake Calipers $223
4 new Brake Pad Kits at each wheel $104
new Master Cylinder $236
Brake fluid for flush $10
new ABS Sensor with new bolts passenger side rear $42
new Wheel Hub passenger side rear $92
new Wheel Hub Circlip $11
4 new front and rear Stabilizer End Links with new bolts $90
new NTN Wheel Bearing passenger side rear  (Honda uses NTN or Timken on North American vehicles) $58
4 new refurbished Honda Ridgeline RTX 17" wheels $600
4 new RTX Centercaps $84

Aftermarket Parts

New Front Windshield $160 installed
1 new Tailgate Cable $22
4 new KYB Twin-Tube Strut Assemblies $625
4 wheel alignment
4 new Toyo open country a/t ii 245/6517 105t b (4 ply) bw $472
1 new Heavy Duty Starter including installation $225
1 set of front floor mats $80
1 Sylvania headlight bulb $5

Body Shop

Repair rear quarter panels, prep, prime, paint, materials, including labor $1,057

Hitch Removal = $55

Oil change, oil filter, trans flush, trans fluid = $95

Purchase price = $1,000
Registration, title, plate, and tags = $165
Add'l Labor = $1,450

Total investment = $7,700
