Indeed, I thought that was one of the best reviews on a bike I saw in a long time.

Also, he isn't a KTM fanboi whore who eats up every single thing KTM slaps a sticker on.

Personally, I am very interested in the 790 but I will have to wait. My situation doesn't warrant a new bike in my garage soon. Needless to say, my cafe racer and skinny jeans dreams are also up in smoke.

Crazy the way that the guys that like the KTM 790 use the same lower center of gravity argument as the BMW guys have always used about the BMW 1200's

Makes you think doesn't it ???

The KTM guys always called BUllshit about that argument - now they love it!!!

lower COG with 21" front wheel, proper suspension and performance, what's not to like?
990 has performance and suspension but its weight is higher. still a bit more lively that half a volksie engine  :laughing4:

What the fuck are you on about?

Are you seriously going to compare an old fat 1200GS with it's hanging tits to the new 790?!

Key notes
Suspension for hard riding. Harsh for slower smell-the-roses type rider (such as myself)
Needs to be ridden at high(ish) revs or no oomph - refer above
Personally the chain slap drove me nuts. Okay, not that bad, but still annoying.

Other than that a great middle weight bike

Good Lord it's ugly. I'm sorry I'm sure it's great but I can never get used to those looks. If they can just do something to that front fairing that looks like it was bolted on at home

To be honest, most KTM's are fucking ugly for me, but they grow on me.

This is the R, and the two compared. I think, besides the obvious fender and screen difference they both equally ugly. Still love it.
