Good Lord it's ugly. I'm sorry I'm sure it's great but I can never get used to those looks. If they can just do something to that front fairing that looks like it was bolted on at home

To be honest, most KTM's are fucking ugly for me, but they grow on me.

This is the R, and the two compared. I think, besides the obvious fender and screen difference they both equally ugly. Still love it.
Might help if you drink a six pack before opening the garage door

Talking purely about the low COG argument / discussion that has been going on for years
It was always dismissed when the BMW had the old VW motor hang testa
Now KTM reinvent the same in the form of a gas tanker that is a mid class bike that weighs almost as much as a BM 1200

And
Your mother or wife should wash your mouth out with potty water !!

Problem with the MYTH surrounding a GS Boxer's "lower COG", is that the pods are sticking out so far that if they mount the engine to actually capitalise on the "lower COG" benefit,

the pods would scrape at 3.4 degrees lean angle. SO BMW raises the engine in the frame for ground clearance, and out the window goes your "lower COG"

Still can't believe that the 950 SE weighs 10kg less than the new 790
What is the deal here??
Must be why they have given the 790 the hanging boobies

Well it also had 7L less fuel (so much shorter range because that motor DRANK fuel).  And then lack of electronics. The SE didn't even have ABS as far as I know.

(Say what you want about electronics, but the 1 time you need them they pay for themselves immediately and are definitely worth a few extra kgs)

Not quite...the SE on Motorcyclespecs is listed as 185kg dry whereas the 790 R comes in at 189kg .....thats with a shitload of electronics and a tank almost double the capacity!

:thumleft: Strong point in favour of the 790 thi, as adding extra fuel in the right places is one of the most difficult/expensive exercises on a bike.
