Still to do.
1. complete the walls
2. seal all gaps to keep dust and spiders out,
3. internal walls
4 .ceiling
4 .skirtings and cornices,
5. power, lighting, wi-fi extender,
6. painting
7. flooring
8. finishing touches.

I recon i'll get it done.  :o

2021 hey..... Not a good start eh? Covid 2.0 ?

For those that are awaiting book deliveries in SA and have not received them yet. Please pm me with your email address as I have the slips with the reference numbers.

For those that are not waiting for books, I don't need your addresses so please don't send them.

For those awaiting an update please be patient, under the pump at the moment and will hopefully get to it soon enough.

For everyone else. Hi.

Not a story but an update of the progress of the office.
I had leave from the 23rd December to the 3rd of Jan.
Build an office they said. I would be easy youtube said.
So i did. Armed with a Jigsaw, a drill driver and a Sawzall I was ready.
I was given a bunch of timber a Sliding door and some Colourbond (corrugated iron) from a demolition.
My limitations were cost, time, transportation of material from Bunnings to my humble abode and mostly talent.
As you may have seen in the earlier pictures the floor went n pretty easy, then the walls were a bit of a challenge untill a mate popped round with an angle grinder. Cutting Colourbond with a jig saw is hard and noisy.
His words to me were. “Mate, stop fucking around like a wanker and just use the correct tools”
Thanks to him life improved after that.
I had planned to use drywalling for the internal walls but they only come in MASSIVE sheets and there was no way I would be able to transport them let alone install them on my own.
Before I put in the walls I ran the cables for the electrics, plug, light and light switch.
I settled on manageable sized boards, which, in retrospect, was a kak idea. You see the beams for the uprights for the walls were, as previously mentioned, from a demolition, and they are slightly warped.
Now in the corners where the boards meet you can see the gaps (urgh, goan, sigh) No stress Polly-filler is cheap and I have the spatula tool thingymagig to apply it.
Next was expanding foam for all the areas that need to be filled and eventually some paint to follow this weekend and I should be done.
I will be writing a story about this in due course so stay tuned.

Don't you just love Admin. Me I'm not a big fan.
And if there is one thing that i dislike more than admin its asking someone else to do you a favor.
In my experience if you are not paying for it somehow it becomes a pain for them and they put in a lot less effort.
The books apparently were sent via the Post office and not Postnet. (2 completely different entities)
I have the slips (e-freaking-ventually) and will mail them to you okes if you can pm me your email addresses. (you know who you are).

I can promise you one thing. Next time i will rather post from AUs where i have a little more control.
Really sorry about the delay.

As an additional note. I'm still waiting for my container to arrive from SA. (it has not left there yet. so for the people that are waiting or me to post from here, please be patient)

Sitting in the middle of a massive implementation of a system, project managers are shitting bricks, covid is causing havoc there are cyclones narrowly missing Queensland and some tennis players girlfriend is bitching about having to wash her own hair. If I could find a sheep to cuddle for a while I may just buy some lipstick and forget about life for a while . One more week and there should be time to document the goings on down under.
