Not a story but an update of the progress of the office.
I had leave from the 23rd December to the 3rd of Jan.
Build an office they said. I would be easy youtube said.
So i did. Armed with a Jigsaw, a drill driver and a Sawzall I was ready.
I was given a bunch of timber a Sliding door and some Colourbond (corrugated iron) from a demolition.
My limitations were cost, time, transportation of material from Bunnings to my humble abode and mostly talent.
As you may have seen in the earlier pictures the floor went n pretty easy, then the walls were a bit of a challenge untill a mate popped round with an angle grinder. Cutting Colourbond with a jig saw is hard and noisy.
His words to me were. Mate, stop fucking around like a wanker and just use the correct tools
Thanks to him life improved after that.
I had planned to use drywalling for the internal walls but they only come in MASSIVE sheets and there was no way I would be able to transport them let alone install them on my own.
Before I put in the walls I ran the cables for the electrics, plug, light and light switch.
I settled on manageable sized boards, which, in retrospect, was a kak idea. You see the beams for the uprights for the walls were, as previously mentioned, from a demolition, and they are slightly warped.
Now in the corners where the boards meet you can see the gaps (urgh, goan, sigh) No stress Polly-filler is cheap and I have the spatula tool thingymagig to apply it.
Next was expanding foam for all the areas that need to be filled and eventually some paint to follow this weekend and I should be done.
I will be writing a story about this in due course so stay tuned.
