It was arranged that we would do a little technical ride through De Wildt, but we had to get through the wine tasting event at Plotties house. :deal:  Mixing wine and other alcohol is not the best thing and sometimes on events like these we tend to forget what we have learnt in the past. :patch:

It was a very successful evening for PAW and thanks to all the people that were involved.  The spirit and enthusiasm was lively to say the least.  :thumleft:

Ok, so the plan was to meet at the BP on the cnr of Hans Strijdom and Old Farm Rd at about 8am.  As usual Plottie was late  and we ended up leaving the rendezvous point at 8:30am.  Before we even started the ride we lost Ryperd (you padda) who didn't see that I took the slipway to get onto the highway.  We had to wait for him at the tollgate on the N4 just past Zambezi.  We managed to regroup and made our way to De Wildt.  We met up with JJred at De Wildt and so it landed up being 6 riders who were going to tackle a bit of sand.

The riding conditions were absolutely awesome.  We had a good bout of rain in the evening which would provide for awesome traction, very little dust and a crispness in the air that would soon turn into humid hot conditions.

Working our way down 3 Fences!

Plottie decided the riverbed was a bit to much and took a shortcut in the bushes.  By this time we could here the growl of his stomach over the exhausts from the KTM 990.  By the looks of things Plotties stomach was taking strain from all that Jameson's and wine.  Probably trying to brew a new cocktail. :imaposer:

JJred was lucky enough to buy a piece of land but worked hard to keep the beast under control!

We eventually made it to the shop(Menlyn) at the end of 3 Fences.  There was nothing better then a cold coke and a couple of ice cold zamalek's.  Plotties brew just wouldn't stay in.  Every now then we would see this twitch in one of his eyes as the cramps made theri presence known.  We eventually convinced him to dump the load!

We decided that a lunch stop over at Moegatle Lodge would round off the day just perfect.  We took some tweespoor tracks to Jericho and then made our way past Ga Tsogwe to get to Moegatle Lodge.  Nothing better then sitting in a pub in the bush drinking and getting a good meal.  Thanks to Alex again for catering at such short notice! :thumleft:
