We negotiated the first few climbs and stopped to view the nightmare climb the contestants went up the day before. It was obviously dry now and in much better condition than the day before.

I would ride up a climb, walk back down to photograph Ghato, and then walk back up again. Soon I was huffing and puffing and sweating like a dog with my layers of thermal clothing. We took some time to undress a bit.
