Who said sand riding was difficult? (must be the XR)
« on: October 27, 2008, 10:18:53 pm »
Check out this video of me and a friend tearing up the dunes here in Dubai  :mwink:

He had a small camera strapped to his helmet, so whenever you see another bike in the shot that is me :D Please excuse my video editing skills, was my first try...

Can't remember when I last had so much fun on a bike

Pro mix:

or my (first time) amateur mix:

If ever there was a place worthy of GPS navigation that must be it!

That looks like SO much fun!

What camera was used?
The footage is pretty decent.

Ok cool.
Was it a self-contained unit strapped to the helmet or a pencil camera with a cable to a recording unit?

I've ridden a bit of sand on Topbox's XR650 once, and it is completely different from my 200 + kg bus!!
Silence is golden...... Duct tape is silver

Everything works with smoke, if the smoke escapes, it stops working.

Net lank genoeg sodat ek op die plaashuis se stoep kan sit en my volgende ride beplan ;) Ek is lekker lus om die "Desert Challenge te ry volgende jaar :mwink:

Yip, both fitted with Scott steering dampers. I used very little damping though.

Ry daai Desert Challenge terwyl jy daar is, jy gaan nie weer so 'n kans kry nie!!!!!!  Bliksem, dan gaan ek eers jaloers wees. Daai steering dampers maak nogal 'n groot verskil in die sand, dit keer dat jou bike se gat begin swaai so op 110km/h in die sand. Enjoy my bru!!!!!!!!!
