Just before the border, we hit some amazing fast, flowing sandy tracks and a bit of racing may or may not have ensued......
We stopped for cheap fuel (R12,50/L) just before the border and had some Lucazade to replenish our energy stores. The border was a non-event and soon we were riding some more fantastic tracks on the South African side. Mark had a specific route in mind which would see us taking cattle tracks towards the Kaalrug road and then forrestry roads over the mountains to Low's Creek.
We were riding side by side up the mountain and the road seemed to be neverending. At a certain point we hit km upon km of some of the worst fesh-fesh I've ever seen. It felt like riding through water.
