KLE countershaft sprocket

Hi all...recently purchased an aftermarket countershaft sprocket for my KLE.  When I, eventually, managed to get it off, noticed that it was quite different to the replacement. The original has a thick rubber 'washer' either side. The vendor says that the new one will be fine, just bung it on! Thought I'd try and get some advice before I do that. Anyone have any experience of this?  Thanks in advance.

yip as long as its the correct after market sprocket ie Splines fit the shaft and the teeth count and pitch is correct you will be fine

that rubber is used to dampen noises, but to be honest I cannot tell the difference

My KLE also has the aftermarket sprocket without the rubber and no hassles so far. I think the rubber is there just to quieting the chain down a bit..
