So, what is the cheapest way of lowering my KTM 500, without upsetting the suspension geometry too much? I know it will then bottom out sooner, but I'm not in the habit of jumping... well, not very high at least. During our recent Ben10 trip I managed to fall twice, each time when I've already stopped and in the process of dismounting. My foot/boot hooks on the bike and before I know it I flat on my back. I can't easily get my foot past my ear to dismount gracefully every time, especially when stopping on sloped or rough terrain.
The forks can be lifted a bit in the triple, I see. But the back? Am I forced to get a new shock or a lower spring? Or are there alternate methods of lowering it? I'm guessing that 3cm or so will do the trick.
I'm not the shortest bloke around, and I can comfortably have both my feet flat on the ground when riding my GSA. But on the KTM I have to stand on tip-toes.
