"The classic colours will be available on the XSR700 and XSR900 Sport Heritage models

Yamaha has a rich racing heritage in both Grand Prixs as well as production-based championships. One of its most popular production bikes to go racing was the legendary RD250LC, and the brand is now paying tribute to the old two-stroke. It has done this by giving its sport heritage models some classic liveries that hark back to the iconic LC

The models in question are the XSR700 and XSR900, which have both received a lovely white and red retro livery for 2020. The front mudguard and top section of the tank are finished in red while the sides of the tank are white. Black stripes run along the boundary between the two colours, and the gold wheels are a nice touch.

In addition to the red and white scheme, Yamaha has also given the XSR900 a black colour option with gold stripes. This goes exceptionally well with the gold wheels, and the old-school branding and logos on both liveries complete the look.

The XSR900 is based on the MT-09 platform and uses the same 847cc inline-triple motor, while the XSR700 is powered by a 689cc parallel-twin. Both engines employ crossplane crankshafts, which give them distinctive exhaust notes. Unfortunately, neither of the XSR models are sold in India, which is a pity."
