We met at the Richwood Garage at 07h30 .
Lito
Wyneh
Crossed-up
Paramed
N[]vA
XT660
and Mark Hardy, who just came to say hi !
A nice size party for a reccie
We went to Perdeberg to a trail that Wayneh and I found on a previous ride.
.
The two spoor is badly erroded and overgrown.
Wayneh took the lead and I swept.
Sweeping is a good place to be , cause nobody can see you when you fall.
Paramed & N[]vA right
Lito & Crossed-up to the right
The first section is steep with loose rocks and slippery moss , so no pics of the section.
This is the section once the road starts levelling out near the top.
Occationally we had to stop so Wayneh could go ahead and see if we could get through the ditches , water or to see if the road actually existed
We got to a section of this gorge that had a chain across it , so we had to go around through the bush.
Lito walked some of the bikes around the pole.
Paramed dissmounting !! errmm !!
Falling !!
Lito lending a hand
We all pushed and walked the bikes up and around the pole/chain , and Crossed-up just rode that little TW200 up and around the pole.
From the left , N[]Va ,Crossed-up , Paramed , Lito and Wayneh
There were Protea`s everywhere
Paramed !
What`s wrong boet ?
Ready for the next obsticle , fence , gate closed
We got to this steep road to the right which Wayneh made up with his KTM525
N[]vA made it up with some difficulty with his BMW X-Country.
Wayneh called down to leave the bikes and walk up , as he had somthing to show us.
And this is the emblim of a Cannon from The Dutch East India Company
I am on the net doing some research into it.
Apparently The cannons were placed on mountain peaks from Cape Town to Swellendam and from Cape Town To Citrusdal as a warning system.
To let the Farmers know when the ships had arrived in the harbour, so they could bring their produce.
Myself , Lito , Paramed , N[]vA and Crossed-up
Wayneh and his faithful KTM 525
