We always see Kanons Kop all over South Africa , but how many of us have actually seen these old cannons and do they still exist.
Well today I saw my second one , but on a really remote mountain top.

I am on the net doing some research into it.
Apparently The cannons were placed on mountain peaks from Cape Town to Swellendam and from Cape Town To Citrusdal as a warning system.
To let the Farmers know when the ships had arrived in the harbour, so they could bring their produce.
