Reliable Workshop in Bellville servicing older BMW
« on: December 29, 2019, 08:57:37 pm »
Some years ago I had my old Beemer repaired by a Bellville m/c workshop that wasn't a member of the official BMW Motorrad Group. They did a very good job and the prices were absolutely reasonable.
Unfortunately I can't remember what the name was and didn't keep my receipts  after all these years. Now a friend needs some expertise regarding his R850R.

Any ideas?

Thx guys. I'll see if I can contact Coxwain. Regarding GS Traders it seems as if their main business is trading with Beemers. No workshop apparently.

A friend takes his bikes to Jandre at JK works. he has always had good service but sometimes has to wait a week or 3 to get a booking.

Yep, that's Jandré, apparently an independent workshop.

Thx for all the info. Great support here  :laughing4:

Jy kan maar na Jandre toe gaan. Tussen hom en Alfie word my 1150GSA eenkeer 'n jaar deurgegaan deur een van hulle 2. Res van die tyd diens ek hom self.

I can vouch for Douglas from GS Traders. I had my old 650GS serviced by him when he worked at Kingtek (was in Retreat, now moved to Durban), then the BMW dealership in town, and finally at GS Traders. I followed him, with my old bike, like a bad nightmare! :imaposer: He sorted some difficult-to-diagnose "electrickery" issues.
