A CHRISTMAS PROJECT
« on: December 30, 2019, 08:59:00 am »
Took a few days leave over Christmas not going anywhere, so got stuck into mancave. 1 little project was my KLX 300 96. hidden away in a corner not ridden for year plus, was pretty the loan db for friends sons gf,s etc. so pulled it out to make a little adv bike for run around and the odd single paaitjie, it is a 96 model purple frame and seat cover. Scratched through the vmx and mx boxes found everything I needed, have not bought a thing, bar a piece of material for for seat cover extention, and need to wait for local locksmith to cut a key.  flickers old rwc box with led lights flickers bar controls tooter , it runs of 6 penlights. ( will look at fitting small bat some where and charge from motor. Ign system fron old kdx, Trail tyres in tyre store, . mirrors also in the box, couple of hrs and some rewiring, Now a cool little runabout, could do with a magic button that 300 has a compression stroke of note. a few pics of the almost finished project . A proper budget build.

Lekker bikes , we used to bore and stroke them to a 360 and they were very competitive , interestingly Kawasaki have relaunched the same old bike with upgraded bodywork , suspension , electric start and of course fuel injection , selling like hotcakes in the States

Oh okayThanks for the feedback. The reason I asked was that I am looking for something similar to your bike as a 2nd light weight bike to use for day trips.

Put the heavyweight plate on the lightweight for the day trips.  A few of my old schoolers are unlicenced for rd, it becomes too much financial effort. umlike some place classic get away or reduced licence fees,
