And, if possible, have someone fit an in-line E13 [from a car spares shop] outside the tank to give extra protection to the injector. This is cheap, but important preventative action.

Meer as genoeg vir my doeleindes.

I would have the in tank fuel filter replaced as early as possible. It is the most common cause for fuel pump failures on these bikes.

I see on Gumtree that Bikers Warehouse are advertising the new 2020 model with the long range tank for R 164669.00. Well I will have to keep my 2016 one
which I got from Noneking. Still just under 10 000 Km on the clock. Goes like a rocket.

 :eek7: a R20 000 tank?? :eek7:

Mine goes like a rocket at 37 000kms.

Quite steep but not too crazy a price a far as tanks go.  Apparently you can also upgrade your old one with the aftermarket kit.  The price for that in Austria is Euro 1950,-.  Now that is crazy.

Rather take the in-tank filter completely out.  If there's still a quick disconnect next to the airbox, that's the place to put in an external filter.

Thanks guys. I will try and get this sorted out soon. I don't think that the agents will do this for me while in for a service. I will chat to them about it though.  :thumleft:

Car filter fits into this space on both 690 & 701.
Rated for 40000km on 4 cylinder car , so should last for the life of a bike.
On my rental fleet Iíve never had an injector issue with these fitted. I guess over 500000km in total on all the bikes.
